Core Services

Our aim is to provide timely and appropriate support to those in our community who need our help. In addition to the particular services described elsewhere, the centre is open to clients who wish to drop-in, every week day from 8.30 am to 4.30 pm.

The most common needs are triggered by health problems such as HIV/ Aids and TB, but there are also a range of social problems. As a result of people migrating from the rural areas to the townships looking for work, together with the decimation of the population over recent years, the society is fractured and solace is sought through the use of alcohol, which in turn often triggers physical and sexual abuse.

We provide a personal service to those requiring help to obtain and complete the necessary paperwork to receive healthcare and claim benefits and pensions. We also offer counselling, practical advice and referrals to the appropriate health services available.

The Isibani centre has a number of well-equipped rooms for various community events, clinics and activities. We have a distribution centre which enables us to accept donations of food and clothing which we can then pass on to those most in need.

Our on-site kitchen provides nutritious soups and meals for the acutely sick.

First Aid is also given on-site.

Hospital transport is provided for those who are unable to make their own way there.
